Have your Animal Anthology binder with you.

NOTE TO STUDENTS: (knee-mail) Please take time to pray each day. While we pray together as a school community each morning, we pray often as a class and in different ways.  Every single day since you have been in my classroom, before you have snack in the morning and you say your little prayer, I ask you to put your heads down on your desks. I say to you, “take a moment to thank God you are healthy enough to be here today. Ask God to send comfort to someone who you think might need it.” If it is raining I usually say something like, “thank God for days when He gives the Earth a drink.” (yes, I hear your quiet giggles and that’s okay, God doesn’t mind quiet giggles) I tell you to thank God for your snack and to be mindful of the children in the world who might not even get clean water that day. Then we are quiet for a few moments and I want you to know I watch you. I see how reverent you are, and how much you mean it when you pray quietly by yourself. Don’t stop that when you are home. Keep praying. Yes, say the all the prayers we have learned, but also take the time to talk to God by yourself. He is listening.

(e-mail) With your parent’s approval, using their email account, if you would like to write to me, I will answer one email from each of you each week we are out of school.

Journal: In an effort to keep up with writing skills, I’d like students to write a paragraph about their day. You can do this at the end of the day or you can do this at the beginning of the day and write about yesterday. Use any paper available to you. Remember to use capitals and periods and to write complete sentences. Read what you wrote when you are done and self-correct!

Religion

Read pages 226-227

Draw a picture of yourself making a peaceful choice. Write a sentence saying what that peaceful choice was.

Math

Math Workbook pages 369-370

Practice page 106

These are problem solving pages, we always do some of these together-I want you to try your best! If you have an adult’s help, that is wonderful-remember what I always tell you-it’s about EFFORT! Get some scrap paper and try, try, try! Just do the best you can.

Science

Today you are going to explore a new website:

www.switcheroozoo.com

I would like you to go to this website and HAVE FUN. They have matching games, you can build your own VIRTUAL HABITAT, you can create your own silly animal; mixing up parts of animals. You can challenge yourself placing animals on the correct continent. There are many things you can do at this site-I had fun myself at this site yesterday ?

Here’s the catch: After you have fun at this site, I would like you to write a paragraph (a few sentences) and “tell me with your pencil” (you always hear me say that in class) what you did at this site. Did you like this site? Was it fun, or kind of boring? That’s okay if you didn’t like it but write and let me know why! Give it a chance. Go to the different places on this site (there are many). Have fun! I bet you like it!
