About Ms. Coyne
Lizanne M. Coyne, Principal of St. Mary Academy has been in the field of education for 28 years, mostly as a private school senior administrator including positions as Head of School, Assistant Headmaster, and Dean of Students. Most recently, Ms. Coyne was the Assistant Principal at Saint Joseph School, in Oradell, New Jersey.
She holds three Masters Degrees in Education: an MA in Educational Leadership from Ramapo College, an M. Ed in Curriculum Design and Teaching from Columbia University-Teachers College, and an M. Ed in Athletic Administration from Norwich University. She also holds NJ State Principal and Supervisor certifications, as well as passed the exam and completed the internship for the New Jersey State Superintendent license.
Passionate about soccer, Ms. Coyne received a full athletic scholarship to Providence College as an undergraduate and captained their NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Team. She is the 5th all-time leading goal scorer for the Friars. Ms. Coyne is a two-time inductee in the Ramapo High School (Franklin Lakes) Athletic Hall of Fame and until recently, she was a director and co-owner of GOALS Soccer Camp , one of the largest all-girls soccer camps on the east coast. Ms. Coyne also taught religious education classes at Immaculate Conception Church in Mahwah and enjoys the Jersey Shore and spending time with her young son and coaching his soccer and basketball teams.
