Have a great weekend and THANK YOU for working WITH me and being so understanding during this unusual and difficult time in all of our lives. I very much appreciate how we are all working together. I can see why you have such great kids, because all of YOU have been so terrific, even when a little glitch happened with a link.

One week-we did it! High fives all around! ?

NOTE TO STUDENTS: (knee-mail) Please take time to pray each day. While we pray together as a school community each morning, we pray often as a class and in different ways.  Every single day since you have been in my classroom, before you have snack in the morning and you say your little prayer, I ask you to put your heads down on your desks. I say to you, “take a moment to thank God you are healthy enough to be here today. Ask God to send comfort to someone who you think might need it.” If it is raining I usually say something like, “thank God for days when He gives the Earth a drink.” (yes, I hear your quiet giggles and that’s okay, God doesn’t mind quiet giggles) I tell you to thank God for your snack and to be mindful of the children in the world who might not even get clean water that day. Then we are quiet for a few moments and I want you to know I watch you. I see how reverent you are, and how much you mean it when you pray quietly by yourself. Don’t stop that when you are home. Keep praying. Yes, say the all the prayers we have learned, but also take the time to talk to God by yourself. He is listening.

(e-mail) With your parent’s approval, using their email account, if you would like to write to me, I will answer one email from each of you each week we are out of school. That means one email this week and one email next week. That’s 32 emails I will be answering if you all write to me!

While school is closed I will be posting daily assignments to this page.

Each child was sent home with a plastic folder with papers inside as well as various text and workbooks.

If any parent/guardian finds their child is overwhelmed with a task, please simply have them complete what they can and note on the page that they could not complete it. I will be following up with all students when we all return to school.

As I sit here and type this, all I can think of is that I would much rather be IN school WITH your children-I love being there with them, but please keep in mind that this decision was made with the best of intentions. Together we can get through these next few weeks and anything I can do on my part to help, I will be happy to do. That includes not stressing anyone out about silly things like using the correct lined paper or if something can be completed using markers (a common second grade question). Please just do the best you can. Feel free to email me if you would like. I know some of your children were upset on Friday. There were a few tears; someone yelled as they were packing up, “Don’t worry guys we can do a group hug before we leave!” Now don't worry they were so busy packing up they never did. They do love each other, and I love them. We will all be back together again before we know it. Stay healthy.

We are THE KNIGHTS!

We begin Unit 3 learning to grow as disciples of Jesus by appreciating that Jesus gave us the gift of himself at the Last Supper. We continue to gather at Mass as a school community to celebrate and remember what Jesus did at the Last Supper and listen to God's Word during the Liturgy of the Word. We learn with reverence to recognize that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist.  We learn the importance of sharing God's love and peace with others. Although your child will celebrate the Sacraments within their parish, in class we are preparing for Holy Communion.
